If you're going to play in the Head to Head hopper, don't be a dick and try to ruin the game if you're losing. That measn you, PIDB17. Unless you just happened to have a shitty connection. Which you didn't.

Besides, one loss isn't going to have a tremendous effect on your rank.

I hope you guys will update the system to penalize droppers, in that case. I play a lot of Team Skirmish and whenever people drop from a team, it really hurts their chances to win. I've been on both ends of that. I care about winning, but it's all in fun for me.

When I'm not playing with my best friend, I've been trying the Rumble Pit. Having a lot of fun with that because I dominate in stretches on the smaller maps. Hard to get more than 8 in a killing spree when the matches don't last long, though.

i hate when people drop from games i send them all bad feedback (not that that does anything anyway) i still play through the whole game even if im the only one on the team remaining and sometimes i manage to win (man did i rip on them i mean c'mon who wins team oddball when it's 4 on one??)

Well, I don't think all people who leave the game do it on purpose, thus I don't send them feedback. Perhaps it was an emergency situation or their girlfriend/spouse got ticked off at the lack of attention.

My best friend said he thinks he found Bungie does penalize the droppers by giving them an automatic loss/immediate drop to last place and the short-handed team will receive bonus points for sticking it out anyway. Perhaps Mat N. can verify/deny this information for us.

that there is no bonus for "short handed teams". Also, if your team wins without you, you get ranked at the bottom of your team, so you still are ranked higher than the loosing team.

If you are playing a 4 round game of 1 Flag CTF or Assault and you are behind 1-0 and you are on defense in the 4th round, or 2-0 and are on offense in the 4th round. Then you have no chance of winning, so I see nothing wrong w/ quitting b/c you are just wasting everyone's time by playing. Some people may still want to play but I think that most people are playing for the W or L. After you get up in rank a bit and are playing Team Skirmish or Minor Clan Matches that's really what people care about and not much else, yeah sure they are wanting to have fun but that fun comes from winning. So basically you aren't hurting your team b/c it is impossible for them to win, end of story!

So having fun means winning? If that's the case, playing against challenging players that beat you must not be fun, huh? Cutting and Running is not a good tactic, and will piss people off even if they aren't winning and are on your team, or they have the chance to win. I have been in games where people aren't in there to have fun, but to try and raise stats because they like to be uber stat whores (ie only fun to win all the time). There are some times where people cut and run from the get go in the first round of a 1 flag ctf game. If a team is at a disadvantage (ie 4v1), I think that there need to be concessions if there aren't already for the smaller team if they lose, but negative points to people that left from the menu and not a crappy connection. I think that if this is done it will discourage people from leaving any game just because, and it would allow the people that suffer from the mounting defeat to be consoled in some way as to not distribute the failure solely on those who stood it out. Also, if your team wins, and you quit, you should not win by default. You should be held accountable for not sitting through the game and awaiting the outcome.

I would just like to say that cutting your losses when loosing is one of the most ignorant and arrogant and self obssesed attitudes to gaming i have seen.Last time i thought about it i played games for fun and it would be nice if the quitters would show some degree of consideration for the people they leave behind whos game is all but over in a 4 on 1 enviroment,wheres the fun in being out numbered and destroyed every 10 seconds. Those of us that play for fun like to win but also find pleasure in some great battles we loose.GAMES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FUN.

Rating whores piss me off so much. Games are for fun and if you can't understand that then you don't need to be playing it. What also pisses me off is when the connection is being re-established and your entire team leaves becuase the wait is to long. Trust me 8-1 matches are not fun, there is no way to have fun when its the scenario Spawn-die spawn-die spawn-die that just isnt good gaming. Bungie needs to do something about all the droppers, if you leave a game you should lose no matter what in less it is not your fault. Everytime my team goes against a team where all the members drop out except one, I congragulate the person that had the balls to stay in the game even if he will lose. You guys should do the same and maybe that will encourage people to finish the game.

I was kind of hoping that was a rare occurance as it happened to me yesterday in a 4v4 CTF. All 3 of the asswipes on my team quit when the opposition got an easy 1-0 lead. I stuck it out and had the pleasure of actually getting the flag 2/3rds of the way to my base before being blown away. The upside to this was that the guys on the opposition let me join their party for further Team Skirmish games and we had a blast.

I usually finish the game because I don't want to piss off other players on my team even when we have no chance of winning but with out the drive to win, I find the game loses a lot of its excitement. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind losing a tight fought game but playing round 4 when the game is over just loses all of its luster, I would rather be competing for a W again then just waiting for the loss or beating the hell out of 1 guy because the rest of his team quit. I think that if the last game isn't needed, then the game should just end.

Pretty sad that so many people are such freaks and jerks about sumthin that *gasp* doesnt realy exist, much counselling is needed if a little number in cyberspace that people who dont know you or care seeing matters so much. Last I checked games were made to play and be fun, fuck who got an early lead im sure you like gettin those. Being immature and ruining other people fun just cause you dont think you can have any on sumthing thats not realy pretty much cements your spot as a geek.

I hate people like that. Sometimes I play three games a day where people puss out because the other team's ahead by a few seconds in Teamball. Fortunately, this is starting to be less frequent. Maybe I'm just lucky, or people are telling them off.

Quitters go to the very bottom of the list, (unless someone else quit that was doing worse)

So, the only real problem with quitters is that if they quit while they are on your team, you most likely get beaten, which is bad :(

you guys think people quitting is bad. My clan just played the clan "STKay" (not STK, the actual good one) in team slayer. We were losing 26 to 27 on Zanzibar and they got scared and hid in the water for about 2.5 minutes. They ended up winning 26 to 27. Complete losers. People like these rank whores are the people that make Halo 2 on Live not fun. If you ever play with STKay, tell them to stop being such losers.

1.From past posts ive read, "But I was thinking, "oh, good" when I saw that it's [halo2] going to be on the XBox, not the PC, so far. As far as those PC elitists are concerned, they can quit whining about consolized versions and start looking to broaden their horizons for a change." this person should kill their self. I prefer PC mainly because of the mouse and key board faster better aiming in my opinion.
As well it started my multiplayer life, along with many others. However I consider myself to be a gamer, hardcore even, and to be a gamer u have to play games. Some games are only console or other platforms.I agree with teh broad horizons but hey Ill kick your ass with a mouse faster than a xbox controller. I hope H2 comes to pc if only for muti-play. Hell an unsupported stand alone for mp would be fine.
2.NO DISRESPECT H2 a little it seemed, but it was hard mode, I play up from hard to Leg. But other wise a kick ass fist rate game. BTW i bought teh limited edt. dvd is cool.
